DELMARVA VETERAN BUILDERS HIRED FOR OAK RIDGE BAPTIST CHURCH EXPANSION
Delmarva Veteran Builders hired to construct the new worship center at Oak Ridge Baptist Church (ORBC) in Salisbury, MD.
Salisbury, Md. – December 8, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced it has been hired to construct the new worship center at Oak Ridge Baptist Church (ORBC) in Salisbury, MD.
The 24,906 square foot project will be built onto the existing 45,000 square foot religious facility located at Oak Ridge Commons. There are minor alterations to the existing building where the existing and new will connect. This addition will allow ORBC to grow their congregation/worship size in addition to their children’s ministry.
“Oak Ridge Baptist Church is excited to start the construction of our new 1,000 seat worship center. We have been dreaming about this building since 2010 and have worked hard to get to this point. Our building project is called Build The Dream. Our Dream of providing a place where community can come and find Hope and Healing for Hearts and Home. This new worship center will not only provide a place for adult worship services but has been designed to support our online community as well. The new adult worship facility is Phase 1 of BTD construction. Phase 2 involves renovating and expanding our family ministry space for a modern, engaging environment for the children.
We are excited to partner with DVB. In the bidding process we were clear that we weren’t just looking for a builder but wanted a partner to join the Oak Ridge team in accomplishing our DREAM. From bidding day to getting the project started, DVB has done just that …. Become part of our family. They have helped us value engineer Phase 1 in order to keep the project on budget and even suggested ways to bring the church family into the process. We are looking forward to working with DVB in helping us Build our DREAM to better serve the community.”

DVB celebrated with its employees on Friday before the public premiere
Salisbury, MD. – September 21, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announces its new tagline, Grit Leads to Greatness
A year ago, DVB embarked on a mission: “How do we celebrate and ignite the veteran spirit that embodies our company?”
Searching for inspiration, DVB turned to the story of America’s “Greatest Generation” and their remarkable impact on human history. To get through the war, average men and women were asked to perform incredible tasks and sacrifice for the greater good. DVB identified qualities from that generation everyone should strive for; resilience, leadership, work ethic, tenacity, integrity and a service mindset. One key ingredient was a driving force for victory and continues to be the number one guarantor of a successful well-lived life: Grit.
What does it mean to have grit? Grit is defined as: firmness of mind or spirit: unyielding courage in the face of hardship or danger. The same Grit of the greatest generation flows through the veins of our veterans and accurately describes the ideals of the DVB Spirit.
The construction industry continues to prove itself as one of most challenging industries today. Every day is a battle- a battle for creation. It's the blood, sweat and tears that construct the things Americans see every day. Instead of seeing obstacles as a deterrent, DVB uses it to sharpen their skills and character. Whether military or civilian, employees choose to step up and ban together to accomplish something greater than themselves.
The lessons learned from history and the construction industry are tangible- all people can contribute, roll up their sleeves, work hard and collectively achieve great things.
DVB is making a statement to the world. This is their promise to its employees, the building industry and the commUNITY to continue to raise the standard of service and commitment to their core values. DVB will be steadfast in uncertain times, grounded in their resolve, and dedicated to the greater good.
As DVB unrolls its new ad campaign, the landscape of the community will start to become canvases of art, promoting the can-do spirit of DVB Employees through fence panels, magazine ads and pole banners. As they highlight their greatest asset, their people- they hope the campaign message can strike a chord after the very challenging year the whole world has faced. Regardless of military affiliation, economic status, race, gender or occupation- everyone has the ability to become greater through practicing grit. This campaign is created in honor of veterans and all the inspirational people throughout history that have made and continue to have the courage to overcome.
A year later, what was once a quest for a tagline has now turned into DVB's new battle cry:
Grit Leads To Greatness.

DELMARVA VETERAN BUILDERS TO LAUNCH NEW CAMPAIGN AND TAGLINE
Tagline and campaign will be launched September 21st, 2020
Salisbury, MD. – September 4, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced it will be launching a new tagline and campaign posters.
With almost a year in the making, Delmarva Veteran Builders will be launching their new tagline through a series of professionally designed campaign posters. Inspired by “America’s Greatest Generation”, Jenny Schroen, DVB’s graphic designer, created images which showcase the values and spirit of the company as it intertwines the attitude and mindset of veterans, the work ethic of the construction industry, and the professionalism of each team member.
The reason for the new tagline? DVB continues to challenge the status quo not only in the construction industry, but as a local company on Delmarva, and DVB thought it was time their tagline matched their efforts. The tagline is set to launch September 21, after the company celebrates Construction Appreciation Week, September 14-18.
To wrap up Construction Appreciation Week, Delmarva Veteran Builders will host a private launch party for their team. The marketing department has released teasers internally, and although the campaign features most DVB team members, they have not seen the finished products.
The Delmarva community can expect to see a much different landscape during morning commutes starting in late September, as the campaign posters will be heavily displayed on jobsites.
“It is time for everyone to know what we have been up to. We view this campaign as a way to celebrate people, our team, our service to customers, and our resolve to help lead our community. We all have a story to tell, and we know stories pull us together, keep us going, and help us all see that light at the end of the tunnel. Hope and resilience are foundations of DVB and we know we have to do our part to share this message. I couldn’t be more excited to share this campaign with our friends and communities on Delmarva; we believe this truly captures the heart and spirit of our company.”

Delmarva Veteran Builders hired for new viewing platform at Pickering Creek Audubon Center
Easton, Md. – July 27, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced it has been hired to construct a viewing platform for Pickering Creek Audubon Center in Easton, Maryland.
Pickering Creek Audubon Center is a 400-acre working farm and educational center open to the public 365 days a year. Home to over 200 bird species, Pickering Creek is a successful partnership between Audubon Maryland-DC and the Chesapeake Audubon Society, a chapter of the National Audubon Society.

“The new meadow and wildflower trail and viewing platform will highlight meadow and shrub meadow habitats at Pickering Creek Audubon Center. The platform will showcase the importance of large meadows as a habitat, giving users a clear view of the habitat. Delmarva Veteran Builders kickoff Safety Week
JAY DEPUTY
SAFETY CHAIRMAN
AUGUST 3RD - AUGUST 7TH
Salisbury, Md. – August 3rd, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced its Safety Week Campaign, to bring awareness to the safety standard in construction.
Set to host two onsite trainings during the week of August 3-7, DVB has partnered with BBSI to continue education to its employees on safety standards. Currently, DVB holds safety training once a month, but believes by hosting an entire Safety Week, it will put added emphasis on safety in construction.
“Safety is a word that’s heard a lot in our industry, but doesn’t get the attention it deserves. DVB is making the decision to spin the narrative into a positive, celebratory week to make it both educational and memorable. Proactively practicing safety binds our employees together- essentially, we’re telling one another that we literally have each other’s back. This collective mentality carries over to all of our job site interactions and reassures our loved ones that depend on us to come home each and every night.”

For 93 years, 7-Eleven has been on the cutting edge of major trends across the convenience store industry. They were first to launch self-serve soda stations, the Iconic Big Gulp, 24/7 stores, coffee to go cups and self-serve gas pumps.
