SAFETY IS BUILT INTO THE WAY WE WORK

At DVB, safety isn't a box we check. It's an active part of how we plan, manage and execute our work.

Our safety program follows the principles and best practices of ABC National's STEP Health and Safety Management System. From preconstruction through project closeout, our teams work to identify hazards, communicate expectations and maintain accountability in the field.

WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE ON OUR JOBSITES

Pre-Planning
Safety starts before work begins. Project teams evaluate site conditions, scopes of work and potential hazards so safety considerations become part of the plan—not a reaction to a problem.

Jobsite Safety Inspections
Our jobsites are routinely evaluated for potential hazards, changing conditions and compliance with established safety requirements. Issues are identified, documented and addressed.

Toolbox Talks + Safety Communication
Regular safety conversations keep expectations clear and relevant to the work taking place in the field. Crews are encouraged to identify hazards, ask questions and speak up when something doesn't look right.

Training + Competent Leadership
Our field leadership receives safety training appropriate to their responsibilities, giving them the knowledge and resources to recognize hazards, enforce requirements and lead safely.

Subcontractor Accountability
Safety expectations apply to everyone on a DVB project. Trade partners are expected to understand and follow project safety requirements and take responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment.

Hazard Identification + Corrective Action
Conditions change quickly on an active construction site. Our teams continually identify potential hazards and address unsafe conditions before they become incidents.

Documentation + Continuous Improvement
Inspections, safety activities, incidents and corrective actions are documented so we can measure performance, identify trends and continually strengthen our safety program.

Safety isn't the responsibility of one person at DVB. From company leadership and project management to our superintendents, employees and trade partners, everyone has a role in creating a safe jobsite.

That means looking out for the person next to you, speaking up when something isn't right and having the discipline to do the job correctly—even when no one is watching.
