Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB) received two major honors from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) at the organization’s awards event held September 17 in Annapolis, Maryland.

DVB received the ABC Excellence Award, the highest project honor presented through the Excellence in Construction Awards program, for the Ocean Bowl Skate Park Administration Building in Ocean City, Maryland.

The award recognizes excellence in construction, including craftsmanship, project execution, innovation and the overall quality of the completed project. The Ocean Bowl project was led by Kathryn Ellis, Project Manager, and Cory Bolduc, Superintendent, along with DVB’s project team and trade partners.

The new administration building supports Ocean Bowl Skate Park, a longtime Ocean City recreation destination, and adds another community-focused project to DVB’s growing portfolio of public facilities throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

DVB was also honored with the ABC STEP Diamond Award, the highest level of recognition within ABC’s STEP Safety Management System. The Diamond designation recognizes contractors that demonstrate a strong commitment to safety practices, training and continuous improvement across their operations.

Receiving both honors in the same evening reflects two priorities that remain central to DVB: building quality projects and sending people home safely every day.

The awards continue a strong record of recognition for DVB’s project teams and company-wide safety program as the firm expands its commercial construction work throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
