Salisbury, Md. – August 3rd, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced its Safety Week Campaign, to bring awareness to the safety standard in construction.
Set to host two onsite trainings during the week of August 3-7, DVB has partnered with BBSI to continue education to its employees on safety standards. Currently, DVB holds safety training once a month, but believes by hosting an entire Safety Week, it will put added emphasis on safety in construction.
“Safety is a word that’s heard a lot in our industry, but doesn’t get the attention it deserves. DVB is making the decision to spin the narrative into a positive, celebratory week to make it both educational and memorable. Proactively practicing safety binds our employees together- essentially, we’re telling one another that we literally have each other’s back. This collective mentality carries over to all of our job site interactions and reassures our loved ones that depend on us to come home each and every night.”
Delmarva Veteran Builders hired for new age 7-Eleven store in Berlin, MD.
BERLIN, Md. – June 17, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced it has been hired to construct the new 7-Eleven convenience store in Berlin, MD.
The new age designed building is set to break ground the first week of July and will be located on the corner of Route 50 East and Samuel Bowen Boulevard. The 4,600 square foot building will include a separate 800 square foot car wash.
“It has been a real pleasure working with Core Acquisitions, a real estate development company based out of Chicago, IL, on the development of 7-Eleven in Berlin, MD. Nearly 50% of the U.S. population lives within 1 mile of a 7-Eleven and we are thrilled to be part of their continued growth.
For 93 years, 7-Eleven has been on the cutting edge of major trends across the convenience store industry. Delmarva Veteran Builders to renovate UMES Farm Building
SALISBURY, Md. – June 10, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced it has been hired to renovate the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Farm Building in Princess Anne, MD.
The project began May 6, 2020 with a projected end date in early November. The 12,000 square foot building will be located on Stewart Neck Road and will feature added classroom space to host the growing student body.
Owner of DVB, Chris Eccleston, graduated from UMES in 2008.
“Attending UMES was such a great experience for me, I am pleased to assist the institution in growing their campus and what they offer to their students.””
Chris earned his undergraduate degree in Construction Management Technology. UMES is the only ACCE accredited construction program in the State of Maryland.
Delmarva Veteran Builders receive Ocean City Development Corporation Award for Project
Ocean City, MD -June 15th, 2020 - Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, received the New Public Facility Construction Award from Ocean City Development Corporation (OCDC).
OCDC is aimed at supporting the Ocean City community through revitalization efforts. Celebrating their 20th year, OCDC has made countless strides to build up Ocean City while keeping its character.
“We envision an economically sound and socially healthy downtown Ocean City, Maryland where revitalization has capitalized on the positive aspects of the area to create a sense of character, charm, and community for both residents and visitors.”, said the Board of Directors cited in the OCDC Annual Newsletter.
DVB completed Ocean City’s Downtown Public Works Facility in Fall of 2019. The 22,000 square foot building is located bay side on St. Louis Avenue.
“This project was exciting to contribute to Downtown Ocean City. The finishes provide what would have been a standard public works facility, with a unique and charming style, seen all throughout downtown. We could not have done this without the efforts of Becker Morgan Group and Diamond State Engineering.”
Becker Morgan Group is a full-service design firm based in Salisbury, MD and offers a holistic design approach. Becker Morgan Group continues to raise the bar for the construction process. Diamond State Engineering is a firm based out of Dover, DE and offered insight and training for mechanical engineering during this project.
Delmarva Veteran Builders welcomes superintendent Nick Lane
Nick is a veteran of the US Air Force
SALISBURY, MD. – June 10th, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced the addition of superintendent Nick Lane.
“We are always looking for enthusiastic team players and Nick fits that description perfectly. We saw great potential in him and we’re happy to continue our mission of hiring veterans.””
Nick Lane began working for DVB at the beginning of the pandemic in late March. He grew up in Virginia Beach where he loved surfing and skateboarding. In 2002, he joined the United States Air Force as a member of the 552nd EMS (Equipment Maintenance Squadron) at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After leaving the military, he started his career in construction in the plumbing field which led him to pursue large scale mechanical plumbing. He received his medical gas installer and brazing license while working on a project at PRMC and later became a construction foreman for a project at Salisbury University.
He first became a superintendent in 2017, spending two years traveling across the country, building for various national clients before joining the DVB team.
“I was ready to come home from the road and Delmarva Veteran Builders was here waiting with open arms. I am extremely happy with the atmosphere that our founder Chris Eccleston has created and the incredible people he has chosen to take on this adventure.”
Nick is excited to marry his fiancé, Allison Levdansky, this coming October. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, grilling and chilling, golf, disc golf, softball, and wood working. Nick says he still gets on a skateboard every now and then, but admits he’s not as agile as he used to be.
Delmarva Veteran Builders add two more employees to the team
Despite economic slowdown, DVB charges on.
SALISBURY, Md. – May 29th, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced the addition of Olesya Taylor and Katie Brittingham to the team.
“We have been strategically working to build our team,” said Chris Eccleston, Delmarva Veteran Builders. “despite all of the setbacks with the pandemic, we were able keep moving forward and hire some of the best in their respective industries.”
Olesya Taylor started on May 1st as DVB’s new comptroller, working to ensure all project costs are on target and controlled by project managers, as well as, accurate financial reporting and compliance. Olesya is a native of Russia but moved to the United States in 2002. She majored in accounting at Salisbury University and became a CPA, licensed in Maryland. Her experience spans ten years in public accounting, practicing predominately in the fields of business, corporate and individual taxation, and planning.
Although new to the construction industry, she is eager to make her mark . “I truly appreciate the opportunity to be a part of such a talented group of hard-working people”, says Olesya. “I also appreciate DVB’s strong community connection.” Olesya and her husband live in Delmar with their two children. In her spare time, she loves fishing, boating and running short races. She is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and treasurer of the Salisbury Sunrise Rotary Club.
Katie Brittingham began on May 19th as DVB’s new marketing and development specialist. Katie is a native of Catonsville, Maryland and received her B.S. in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Towson University. After college, she relocated to the Eastern Shore where her husband grew up. Since then, she has worked in both property management as a regional marketing associate and the travel industry as a regional marketing manager.
“I am very excited to be a part of the DVB family,” Katie says. “I was drawn to DVB by its supportive, fun and friendly company culture.” Katie lives in Laurel, Delaware with her husband and two young children and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Delmarva Veteran Builders to Open Outdoor Marketplace for Local Businesses
Believe Marketplace will provide Hope to our Community
SALISBURY, Md. – May 15, 2020 – In an effort to provide local businesses with an opportunity to continue offering their services to the community, Delmarva Veteran Builders has announced the opening of Believe Marketplace. The outdoor marketplace will provide the much-needed support for businesses to reach customers, while adhering to public health & safety guidelines. The next frontline in the fight against COVID-19 is supporting small businesses and building consumer confidence in a safe alternative to the traditional indoor brick & mortar locations.
The marketplace can be reserved free of charge and will be in the parking lot next to the DVB offices, in a 1600 square foot tented pavilion. Believe Marketplace will be offered for a period of thirty (30) days as a start and depending on community interest. We will provide hand sanitizing stations as well as mark seven (7) foot social distancing marks on the pavement.
We believe we need a statement downtown to help rebuild consumer confidence within the community and we are proud to be leading the charge for small businesses. Be the Buffalo!

DELMARVA VETERAN BUILDERS READY TO BREAK GROUND AT GALENA ELEMENTARY
Project set to break Ground June 1st, 2020
Galena, MD. – May 14, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced it has been hired to construct a 1,100 square foot addition along with renovations to the existing structure.
The Kent County Board of education announced via Zoom teleconference on April 9th that DVB had been awarded the nearly $5 million contract consisting of the new 1,100 square foot addition including a kitchen and cafeteria, along with the replacement of the membrane roofing system in its entirety, as well as, renovations to sections of the existing school.
“Galena Elementary’s vision of developing, engaging and inspiring our next generation of leaders perfectly aligns with our purpose. As DVB expands into Kent County, we look forward to facilitating their mission while having a positive impact on the learning environment for both faculty and students.”
“The Kent County Public Schools is very excited to begin this project as it will significantly improve the learning environment for the staff and students at Galena Elementary. The cafeteria expansion will not only improve the space but will allow more students to be served comfortably and efficiently. DELMARVA VETERAN BUILDERS SELECTED TO BUILD UNITED STATES POST OFFICE COMPLEX IN DOVER
The project is set to break ground May 1st 2020 with a completion date of Summer 2021.
Dover, DE. – April 14, 2020 – Delmarva Veteran Builders, the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, announced it has been hired to construct a new 20,000 square foot building for the United States Postal Service in downtown Dover, Delaware.
The existing Dover post office has been located on Lookerman Street since the early 1960s and has outgrown the current space. The city of Dover chose the former Chesapeake Utilities complex at 350 South Queen Street for its new location.
The project consists of demolishing nine existing structures, along with their utilities, full site demolition and the construction of the new building encompassing the entire city block.

The country, more than ever, relies on the supply chain and the ability for companies and individuals to deliver critical supplies to the end user.
